*shameless bump*

Are we still up for this?
Who's coming along?
And what travel arrangements do we still need to make to go over there?
There was talk about renting a van, so that's transportation, but we still need to get places to sleep, ... and some other practical info about the event.

Also, sadly, now that Battle US 2 was announced to take place the weekend before Battle Warsaw, some skaters aren't coming to Poland anymore. Sad
But surely we can make it right Wink

"One cone" just means you don't get a lot of points if you win.
The value of rankings in competitions get ranked in WSSA with cones, and when you first organize an event, it just gets one cone.
You get more cones if more people will be competing and if you have done that event for more years.

I don't think you should look at the "cone-rating" when you want to decide whether to go or not to an event.

The thing is though, that lots of well-known skaters (Igor, Chloι, Xuan Le) will be going to BattleUS II in the weekend before Battle Warsaw, and they're staying there a little longer, so they're not coming to Battle Warsaw.
That's about the only downside.

The location seems really cool, and ofcourse we'll see our friends of JaNaRolki again.

Anyway, I'm going alone if I have to Smiley

Update:
Naomi Grigg and John Stanning (another member of Team Skatefreestyle and an _excellent_ skater) will be in Warsaw as well.

I think it's time to get things organized again already.

Because we want to arrange transport and accommodation and stuff...

Lidia told me on msn NOT to book a hotel before notifying them, because they want all the skaters to be in the same hotel.

As with the upcoming Naomi weekend, I'll update the first post with people that are sure they'll go.

Michael and I have been thinking and searching and came to the conclusion that the flight back is pretty expensive in comparison with other flight (a week later of the flights from Krakau). We also found out that it is not too expensive to make a longer trip an take the train form Warsaw to Krakau.

Or plan would be something like this:

Flight BRU-WAR = 36 € on Thursday 21/08
Hotel in Warsaw = 78 € pp for four nights http://www.thomascook.be/ThomasCook/action/HotelOverviewHotelDetailAction?HotelId=126012&NS
Train Warsaw - Krakau = 30€ (takes 3 hours) -On monday
Hostel in Krakau = 60€ pp for three nights (for double room, 51€ in dorm room)
http://www.thomascook.be/ThomasCook/action/HotelOverviewHotelDetailAction?HotelId=112962&NS
Visit to Auswitch with Thomas Cook = 30 € (if organised ourselves propably cheaper)
Flight KRA-BRU = 50 € on Thursay 28/08

Total price = € 275

I also looked at the hotels proposed by Janalkiroller, but they are more expesive, since in the Ibis hotel a 2+1 promotion exists. The Ibis hotel is at 7.5 km from the competition, but since there is an underground, getting there will be no problem.

Let me know what you think about the hotel and if somebody else is interested in going to Krakau.

It's a nice idea, but I don't have that much days of vacation left and I'm gonna need some to spend on going to Singapore, so I'm out for the trip to Krakau & Auschwitz (too creepy for me anyways :s).
