This sunday there will be a lot of people visiting Hasselt due to the 25th edition of the "Dwars door Hasselt" Running contest.

The program for sunday is:
08u00 - 14u00: "Dwars Door Hasselt" walk
10u00: Start registration
11u00: "Dwars Door Hasselt" Skate parade
13u30: Start to Run 5 km
14u15: Start to Run 3 km
15u00: Scapa Sports Youth Run (till 12 years) 1 km
15u30: "Dwars Door Hasselt" 15 km

The organisation expects  10.000 participants and 25.000 spectators.

This could be the ideal opportunity to bring our cones and give the spectators something to look at...
Also an ideal chance for free publicity for our sport and our club..

I suggest we meet @ noon so most of the participants of the skate parade can join our slalom session

The only problem is the location... The "Dusartplein" in Hasselt is not suitable for slalom and the departure and finish are situated at that point. So we have to find a location with a smooth surface and great visibility.

I'm really up for this... so who's joining?

I'm there!

But I do suggest we put up some cones at the dusart-plein, to give people an impression of what slalom is, and invite them to join us at our location.
Maybe we could hit the "Molenpoort" again? It's not ideal over there either, but at least it's better than the "Dusartplein".

What do you say?

I'm ok for the Dusartplein but I think we could check the perimeter for a better place as soon as we get there...
Would be great if we could take up a part of the street @ the Dusartplein...

I guess we'll see what happens.  But let's all meet @ the Dusartplein @ noon. ok?

For those who want to join later send a pm so we can exchange phone numbers if necessary...

Looking forward to the weekend...  Tongue

I plan to come as well.
You don't do the parade, I suppose, if you want to date at 12:00?

That is a perfect idea.
Do you need a tent to make it more impressive ?
Is "Dusart-Plein" in th zone ?
Is there possibility to play some tunes ?

Ok, so far I've contacted the project manager of Dwars door Hasselt.

He likes the idea and he will send me the different route maps.

I'll try to find a space where we can go.  One idea is to do it at the start line of the event, before and after the start signal. Kinda like V. Vu Van Khan did at the inline games.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, I've got some great news...

I've found a spot for us to slalom...

Before 15.30 hr we can go at the Wijngaardstraat, which is situated behind the Kids village on top of the plan.  The last race starts at 15.00 hrs. This allows us to put our cones at the crossing of the Guffenslaan and the Congostraat. This is really in the center of it all (between the WC and the TVL Bus), so this will be great for promoting our sport.  A few rules have been layed down on us:
- we can't put down a tent.  Just our cones!
- we are not allowed to promote commercial organisations, as the partners of the contest pay a large amount of money to have their logo being seen by the spectators.

I suggest we meet a little later than 12 hrs, because I know for sure that I will be beat at 15.30 when I start at 12.  Gives the rest enough time to participate in the skate parade...

I most certainly hope for good weather and a lot of slalom enthousiasts to join us! So...spread the message!!!

To finish off, this is the plan of the event... see you guys and girls on sunday!
