This is the thread to discuss and share your ideas for the event in Hasselt.

MAJOR UPDATE
Ok, so we got green light from Tim to have our demonstration in the Grenslandhallen at his event "WinterKickx". And there was much rejoicing !!!!
Hours: 12h til 16h.
Meeting place: I suggest the parking lot of the Grenslandhallen and to meet up at the front-side (entrance) at noon (12h).
Confirmed skaters:
Thomas
Marleen
Stijn
Evy
Sch3lp
Jurgen
Nancy
Still trying to contact Tin.
Tim himself will not be joining us, because he has more important stuff to do like, I don't know...running the organisation of the event? Smiley

Our Official Contract number to be recognized as a charity event is RKC465

Previous ranting
What we know for sure up until now:
1. We want to organize an event to raise some money for the MusicForLife charity.
2. Sofie Lemaire will arrive in Hasselt on 22/12, around 17h-18h.
3. BIC.Huub is in close contact with Stijn Vandevoorde, StuBru's contact for their skate-tour stunt.

I thought we could do demonstrations throughout the entire day.
If we're with a lot of freestylers, we could split up in groups and demonstrate on different locations to cover a larger crowd in total.
If we decide to do this splitting up, I suggest we all come back together when Sofie arrives. For both entertaining and promotional purposes.
I suggest we definitely go with this plan as the "main plan" and have something extra:

* We could also give freestyle slalom initiations to interested skaters, and ask a small fee for it.
* We could cooperate with near café's to have roller-waiters and make some sort of deal with them that we get to keep the tips to donate to charity.

Any other suggestions?

Still nothing from Sofie, but I guess we're going to know on monday when Stijn Vandevoorde gets back and sorts stuff out with Huub.

I mailed Stijn, he confirmed Sofie will be in Hasselt on the 22nd december.
Let's get this action going then, by contacting everyone you know who wants to skate, try some freestyle slalom, or whatever.
We'll also need an indoor location somewhere in Hasselt, preferrably in the center (of attention), if anyone has some good ideas, do share them Smiley

Sofie confirmed she's up for the initiation, but also noted that she's going to have to take into account the time she has, and other stuff she'll need to do. So cross your fingers ! Smiley

I was thinking about getting some shops to sponsor us, in return we could give demonstrations in their shop.
GOSport is already out, they don't have enough room to put us, and the 22nd is going to be a very busy day for all businesses...

Alright, this is still on for me.

I suggest we meet up at 10 o'clock in the morning in Hasselt at the "Kol. Dusart plein Parking" (not underground), see with how many freestylers we are, and possibly split up and hit spots in Hasselt.

The chance on rain is realistic, and it's going to be cold as fuck, so dress accordingly.
The chances of meeting Sofie are practically... well, none. She has to be in the Muziek-O-Droom by 18h, and has to come all the way from Bruges. She'll get flown by helicopter from Sint-Truiden to some other coast city, where she'll skate to Bruges. I have no idea where she's going to start from to arrive in Hasselt.

Please confirm you are coming or not in this thread, because if we have more than 3 people, I'll request a number with the red cross. Otherwise, I'm thinking of cancelling this thing entirely.
Thanks in advance Smiley

Hey, I contacted Tim.
Because he is organizing WinterKickx, an event which attracts _lots_ of people, I was thinking maybe we could do a demonstration over there and gather some moneyz on the spot.
This would be ideal, because it is indoor.

I'll be calling all of you skaters in a few seconds, because I'm too anxious now Smiley

Alright, so we'll be meeting up at noon (seems a bit like the wild wild west like that doesn't it?), at the entrance of the Grenslandhallen.
I suggest no one enters before we're all together in one group. We all have each others cellphone numbers, so communication shouldn't be a problem Smiley
See u all tomorrow!! And mind the speed-limit of 90km/h

Oh and btw: Our Official Contract number to be recognized as a charity event is RKC465

For safety, change maybe the hour also in the title?
