For the MusicForLife charity, Sofie Lemaire and Stijn Vandevoorde will be doing a skate-tour across flanders.
They will start this tour together in Leuven.

Emma brought up the idea to be there when they're starting and to do demonstrations/initiations.

What we know up until now:
1. They start on Wednesday, 19th december. But we don't know at what time.
2. We want to be there when they start, and provide some entertainment.

People that have confirmed their presence:
Marleen, Tin, Tom, Xavier, Thomas.
Huub will probably be there as well.
I still have to check if I can be there.

Questions:
Is it also the plan to start collecting money for the charity at this day?
Are we going to give Sofie an initiation now, or should we hold that idea for when she visits Hasselt, or some other city?
What skating level does Sofie have?

Discuss. Smiley

What is Sophie's level ?
When I give some learning to normal people on wheels, the first 20 minutes are not freestyle slalom but some balance exercises, and after those exercises, they are able to ride on theirs toes and to spin (around 270 degrees) on their toes, which is very exciting for them because they never believe they could do it before :-)

Only after that I go on with freestyle slalom introduction (fish, snake, one foot and forward criss-cross) with a big attention to the ankle/body position and arms keeping free (how did you guess I went to the Naomi weekend ?  Grin)

So if she is already a speed rollerwomen, I think that the first part is not needed.

This is my proposal.

If anybody else wishes to give the lesson, I would be happy to meet him/her to share and show these exercices to make our experiences richer.

No problem Wink

I confirm for Tin Xavier and myself, and I'm doing my best to raise my level in slalom in order to be good enough for a demo session :p

I'm afraid it will be difficult to do something meaningful in Leuven on the 19th.
Sofie is expected that evening in Tienen already and Stijn in Lier. This means that they will leave Leuven during working hours and that meeting them in Leuven is impossible for most of us.
So, let's all try to join in Hasselt on the 22nd then?

Ok.

Even if I am a bit sad not to go, in the bottom of my heart it is a good news for me, because with all the end_of_the_year activities, I am a bit loaded (and on top of it, I am on duty for my company next week).

Anyway, we will have other possibilities to organize this kind of stuff in the future :-)

They have lots of updates on stubru itself though.
Including time-schedule of benefit-concerts/parties/events

http://www.stubru.be/taxonomy/term/3710

And everyday in Thomas de Soete's show, Sofie and Stijn talk about what's going on in which city.
Today Hasselt's activities will be mentioned, I'm curious what the locations of these events and parties are going to be.
