New camera

Ok, our camera broke, so we're buying a new one, but there's so much choice ,

*It has to do most of the stuff needed to make great pics on it's own 'cause unlike Stijn i'm not a pro
*I also have to be able to film with it(high quality)
*I want a "groothoeklens"
*Price under €350

Any suggestions?

The FZ28 is a fine camera; it's zoom range goes from 28mm (which is wide, but not _really_ wide) up to the enormous 486mm (which is a lot of tele)

A possible alternative is the slightly pricier (€400) Lumix DMC-LX3; this one goes from 24mm to only 60mm, so basically it has no tele, only wide-angle and standard. So if you only get really close to your subjects and just _love_ the wide angle effect: go with this one.

It is (optically) very hard to construct a wide angle lens for compact camera's, let alone one that has a workable zoom-range. That's probably why the LX3's zoom range is so limited.

I guess you know this, but these are camera's that probably won't fit in your jacket's pocket, they are quite bulky and heavy.

Another alternative is choosing an ordinary compact camera, go to the "brico" and buy a lens they usually build into hotel-doors and the like. You can attach these lenses to a compact camera using the little box of an (analogue) photo film and you have a compact camera with a fisheye lens! Works really fine and is really cheap

Fyi, i'm bringing the box but not the hotel-door lens

you can also just hold the lens in front of the camera lens, but that's not as practical as when it would be fixed in front of the camera lens. The plastic cylindrical film box fits rather tightly around most compact camera lenses, and the door lens fits in there rather well too + the film box has a cap that can be used for protecting the door-lens during storage. When your camera lens is extremely tiny or extremely large, the film box won't fit and you need to be "creative" with other stuff.

ps: can't find anything about a session next Saturday; where, when, what?
ps2: I don't seem to get any notification emails from the conecrazy forum anymore, is this normal?

check www.billiger.de, check for the model and it searches all the online shops available with the cheapest prices...

Saved me 30% compared to the Media Markt...

Michael and I are also looking for a new camera as we are not really happy with the quality of our pictures  now. So Jurgen, are you happy with the Lumix ? I think so because the pics from MGB were really sharp (in comparison with mine). Would you mind bringing the camera on Sunday so we can have a look at it ?
