I'm trying to install Joomla, but I always get an error saying this

"Unable to connect to the database:The MySQL adapter "mysql" is not available."

Uhm, maybe it's something stupid but I really don't know that much about this kind of stuff so...

Who knows what I have to do?

Please, 'cuz it really makes me nervous.

Joomla = meh

Use Drupal or Wordpress instead. Wordpress is lightweight and easy to use, but isn't as extensible as Drupal. (we use drupal for the conecrazy website as well)

Also, I think it might be better if you guys just start mailing (otherwise information will be spread that you probably don't want lingering on the internets)

Did sort out the problem?

There were loads of problems with The latest version of Joomla during the summer, most I believe have been ironed out, however this was after many weeks of people complaining about the shortcomings of v1.5, which was met by an apparent arrogant and holier-than-thou attitude from the admin and development team.

I was on the verge of giving up and trying something else when things suddenly got resolved.  If I have any more problems I'll be moving DaveySpeedstar.com onto something like Drupal.

I you download the latest version of v1.5, and reinstall it again from scratch.

For smaller websites I agree with sch3lp, Wordpress is a dream to work with.  It may be promoted as blogging software, but it's so adaptable and it is so well supported with plug-ins etc, its a really good CMS.  The only reason I moved my site away from WP is because my site was getting too unwieldy.

Interesting.
What in particular was getting too unwieldy then?
